Welcome to Little Red Scrapbook's "Out with the Old, In with the New" Blog Hop! With the start of the new year we all like to set goals and think of new ways to get organized. With this in mind we have come up with some fun challenges that may help you get started. If you started here on my blog you will need to go back to the Little Red Scrapbook Blog and start there for all the rules and ways to win. If you hopped here from the LRS blog then you are in the right place!!! You are on STEP 2 of the Blog Hop!!
STEP 2: Second you will need to visit all FOUR blogs and leave a comment on EACH blog. This is important so we know you have been to all of the blogs. If you have left a comment on each of the blogs your name will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win the orange colored inspired “hodgepodge” prize. Another easy peasy way to win!
STEP 3: Once you’ve done that, you will need to check out our Facebook page, and LIKE us. This will put your name in another random drawing for a chance to win the green color inspired “hodgepodge” prize.
STEP 4: For a chance to win the Love LRS Grand Prize head on over to our message board and say hello, then upload your project and/or layout for any of the design team challenges posted on our blogs to the “2012 Out with the Old, In with the New” gallery. The Blog Hop challenges will run from January 27th until midnight January 30th. You can enter as many times as you like. You do not need to be a subscriber to participate. The more entries, the more chances you have to win!
Then on February 1st, be sure to check out our Facebook page, or visit the LRS community or the LRS blog to see if you are one of the lucky winners!
Okay, onto the FUN part...my challenge!!!
My absolute favorite part of the new year is starting a new calendar. I always select the same style calendar and then decorate/alter it to make it my own. I just love the process and it really does make me super happy (it's the simple things, people!) to see it by my desk!! Here's this year's calendar, created with January Little Red Kit...
Nothing too tricky here...I just used some of my favorite Lily Bee papers and the "remember" sticker, ribbon from the add on kit, alpha from the add on alpha kit (oohhh..these are AMAZING little letter stickers!) and kraft doily from the add on embellishment kit (I told you before you were going to want the WHOLE kit and caboodle!) to create my cover. I even made a cute little flag for my paper clip using a scrap and a flair button from the kit. :)
Sooo...now, here's the challenge. ** Create something to help keep you organized for the new year!! ** It could be a calendar, but it doesn't have to be...use your imagination. (I am thinking I need to create some tags for my supply baskets in my scraproom, or maybe a cute little framed project that I can use an erasable pen on to write messages to my family on...you get the idea) then upload your creation to the Challenge Gallery (don't forget to say what challenge it is for) and you can link it back to my Challenge Thread in the forum. Easy Peasy!!! Have fun with it and I can't wait to see what you create!! Be sure to stop by the message boards to say hi!!!
From here you will be hopping to my sweet friend Kristii's Blog:

Love, love, love your beautifully decorated calendar!! I love how you spelled out twenty 12 and you're right, the alphas are fabulous!!

Great calendar! I have a photo album like that I bought to keep fabric scraps in while shopping so I can compare. I wanted to do something for the cover--this is the perfect opportunity!

Love the calendar Lisa!! You all are such an inspiration to me to step out of my box and do something different and fun!! I bought a Fancy Pants brag book with the intention of doing a year in my life, and what better time to get started on it than this weekend, and what better supplies to use for it than my new January LRS kit!! See you back at the message board!!

Very cute!!! DH got this planner/calendar thing that's a really nice size from a supplier. But it's plain green cover was making me think "bleh". With your inspiration I might just see if I can cover it and make it cute! :)

Great idea on doing a personal calendar. Love the colors that you used. I buy one every year and this would be a lot better creating one myself and making it mine. Thanks for sharing.
